What is the first thing most people think of when they think of lying down? Sleep, rest, relax, nap or even take a load off is what usually comes to mind. Most people equate lying down with some form of relaxation because of how it makes them feel.

But what is actually happening in the body to make us “FEEL” this way?

1. Blood pressure lowers.

2. Heart rate slows down.

3. Breathing slows down.

4. Muscles and bones have an opportunity to relax.

5. Gravitational forces are more equally distributed.

6. A mental sense of “It is ok to relax”.

“Lying down gives the body a chance to recuperate from a busy stressful day. A fully supportive horizontal position provides a necessary reprieve from gravitational forces so that all physiological systems, including musculoskeletal and cardiovascular activity, metabolic and heart rate, and circulation, can slow down. When this occurs, the body is able to replenish the vital resources that have been naturally depleted throughout the day.” (Dr. Joseph Weisberg, Heidi Shink)

Imagine the results you could expect from adding massage to the benefits already realized by just the act of lying down!

This is only ONE of the reasons that Kinkz Corporate Massage utilizes a massage table in all of their therapies. Check out the “Top 4 Reasons to Use a Massage Table in Corporate Massage.”
